Beijingaling

These are some Beijing photos from our recent travels. It was nice to Dad and Kate and receive everything that Mum had packed for us. I increased my luggage weight from 6kgs to 26kgs in the short trip, mainly because of what Dad had bought us, which caused him to complain almost non-stop. It kind of went like this: Cam "I'm so sleepy" Dad "I'm way sleepier, I got up at ...... [10 minute long discourse]... and I had to carry all that weight....". But we were very grateful.

The photos are of us in a rickshaw, at some peoples house, at the forbidden city, at Tiananmen square, dressed as the emperor and his favourite concubine and the great wall. In most of the group photos some chinese people also took a photo on their own cameras to sell or keep in their photo albums. I learnt so many facts about China over the weekend but have now forgot most of them, except that Penny and I were perhaps a little off in our estimates of the length of the Great Wall (200kms).

I don't feel as if I need to go into great detail with regards the rest of the trip because most of the people who read this were either with us, have already been telephoned or are in the process of being e-mailed. Both Penny and I are very sad that we only get one visa to visit China because we would both like to return, now with my Chinese knowledge rivaling and in my opinion surpassing Dad's, as I have Hello and Thankyou pretty much 100%. For Penny's dinner last night she 'enjoyed' reduced cream and onion dip and looking like thats on the menu again this evening so thats gone pretty quick. I look very sporting in my new baby blue pajamas from mum so perhaps I will put some posts of me in various poses with them on at some point.

Keep commenting, it certainly helps the moral on those grey Suwon afternoons. I recently received James's postcard and you can expect a reply in the near future as I found a beauty to send to you.

Love Cameron and Penny.

Very nice pics guys!! My favs are the one of you witht he red umbrella Bambi (is it meant to be a panda??) and the dressed up ones (especially with the random chinese ladies posing with you - were they trying to become part of the harem?).

All is good here. Greg has organised a classy wine and cheese evening at our house tonight... Unfortunately the Warriors have made it to the semi-finals and so that will be accompanying the evening. Very classy.

Glad you had a good trip, I am very jealous of your travels and very much looking forward to seeing you guys at Christmas!! It will be great. In the meantime I will try and send a new card to the correct address.

Love you xx

Sexy Photos. You are all looking trendy, and Cam you are looking particularly tall. I forgot how much you tower over dad these days, or maybe he is starting to hunch a little.
The Emperor and Emperess photos are simply royal.
Glad that you had fun in Beijing. I can't wait to go back. I have talked to Dad a bit on the phone and he seems to be having an amazing (if a little bit sweaty) time.
I had a picnic in the gardens yesterday and there was a really cute little Korean girl wearing the traditional dress and taking photos with the blossom trees. I thought about you guys.
I have 5 weeks left of uni so am pretty busy ATM, but have full time work for when I finish so think I will be able to save lots of money and stay in asia hopefully till the end of Feb.
Miss you both, am really looking forward to having some asian fun over the Summer.
Love from Charlotte.

Hey good pics, very jealous that I wasnt joining you on the birdsnest+luge day, although Dad is sporting a bruise about the size of North Korea.

Great pictures Cam and Penny.
I printed them out and took them over to Grandma at the weekend, and the same the week before. She has them sitting on the table all week to show to anyone who calls in. She's good, but the garden is very heavy work this year because it's been so wet, so I think Bill might be called into action on the spade on Saturday.
You obviously made the most of Beijing. You might be able to get tourist visas to go back after you have finished your time in Korea, but I guess maybe you'd have to go to Hong Kong to get them.
Nana and Pop are here, Nana has her operation tomorrow. They are good, and enjoying looking at the blogs too. They hadn't managed to work them by themselves, and still can't figure out how to comment!
I love reading it all, and you know I look every day, even if I don't comment every day.
Love you, Mum xxx
